1. Optional Google Analytics

With your express consent to tracking cookies, PacketPint uses Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate use of the service, such as visits, page views and interactions. Google may receive technical and usage information from your browser, including its IP address, browser and device information, the pages you visit and the time of the request. Google Analytics may set first-party cookies, including cookies whose names begin with _ga, to distinguish visits.

The Google Analytics tag is not loaded and no Google Analytics cookies are set unless you choose Tracking in the cookie notice. We have disabled Google Signals and advertising-personalisation signals, and we do not use this implementation for advertising, remarketing or marketing profiles. Google processes information under its own Privacy Policy and Google Analytics privacy information.

2. Information handled to operate the service

Network tools necessarily receive the information you submit, such as a hostname, domain, IP address or URL, to perform the check you requested. Standard technical operation may also create limited server or security records, which can include your IP address, request time, requested path, browser details and the submitted technical input. Successful WHOIS requests retain a structured copy of the result shown on the page, including the registry and registrar responses, summary fields and any fallback domain used. For successful IP Calculator requests, PacketPint records the visitor IP address, submitted IPv4 address, selected prefix lengths, calculated network and broadcast addresses, and request time. MX RBL checks retain the visitor IP address, requested domain and structured result displayed on the page, including MX hosts, resolved public IP addresses and configured blocklist responses. SMTP Server Check retains the visitor IP address, submitted host, resolved target IP and structured SMTP result shown on the page, including greeting, advertised capabilities and the non-delivery relay-probe response. Reverse DNS Lookup retains the visitor IP address, submitted public IP address, generated reverse query name and structured result displayed on the page, including PTR hostnames, forward DNS addresses, confirmation results and lookup time. TCP Port Checker stores the visitor IP address, submitted host, resolved target IP, port, connection result and connection-attempt time. These records support rate limiting, troubleshooting and abuse prevention. Optional tool-feedback responses are stored with the tool and day so the same connection is not repeatedly asked. These records are used only to operate, secure, troubleshoot and prevent abuse of PacketPint.

PacketPint aims to collect and retain no more information than is needed for these purposes. Results are offered directly by PacketPint wherever possible, so obtaining them does not require a third party.

3. Optional Contact and Guestbook submissions

If you use the Contact form, PacketPint stores the email address, subject and message you provide so the message can be reviewed and, where appropriate, answered. If you sign the Guestbook, the name and message you provide are stored and displayed publicly; related operational records may include your IP address to help prevent spam and abuse. Please do not include passwords, credentials, sensitive personal data or information about others in either form.

4. Third-party lookups require your action

Some information cannot be obtained without consulting an external provider. PacketPint will not send your IP address or other relevant lookup data to such a provider unless you explicitly choose the feature and give the required consent on the relevant page. For example, the detailed IP lookup is optional and explains the disclosure before it is performed. The MX RBL Check, when you submit a domain, sends reputation queries for the resolved mail-server IP addresses from PacketPint’s server to each configured real-time blocklist operator; it does not send that operator your browser IP address. RBL services commonly use DNS as the technical query mechanism. The SMTP Server Check opens one SMTP connection from PacketPint’s server to the public host you submit and sends only SMTP protocol commands required for its greeting, capability and non-delivery relay check; it does not send message content. TCP Port Checker opens one TCP connection from PacketPint’s server to the resolved public IP address and port you submit, then closes it without sending protocol data. Once information is sent to a third party, that provider’s own privacy terms apply to its handling of the data.

5. Cookies and local browser storage

PacketPint uses a secure session cookie when it is needed for a form, CAPTCHA, consent flow or request protection. It is not used for advertising or cross-site tracking. The service does not intentionally use local browser storage for visitor profiling.

We use the TermsFeed Cookie Consent tool to show the cookie notice and remember your choices. Its consent preference cookie is strictly necessary for this purpose. Loading the tool connects your browser to TermsFeed, which receives the usual technical request information such as your IP address. If you consent to Tracking, Google Analytics uses its own first-party analytics cookies. You can review or change your choices at any time through Cookie Settings in the footer. Withdrawing Tracking consent disables Google Analytics for future activity and removes its known first-party cookies from PacketPint.

6. Security and retention

Reasonable technical measures are used to protect service data. No internet service can guarantee absolute security. Operational and security records are retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for operation, security, abuse prevention, troubleshooting or legal obligations. Public Guestbook content remains visible until it is removed by an administrator.

7. Your choices

You can use most PacketPint tools without submitting contact details. You can decline Tracking in the cookie notice, withdraw it later through Cookie Settings, decline optional third-party lookups and avoid using the Contact or Guestbook forms. For a privacy question or to request removal of a Guestbook entry that you submitted, use the Contact form and include enough detail to identify the request.

8. Changes to this page

This notice may be updated when PacketPint’s features or data-handling practices change. The current version is always published on this page.
